Start SubmissionThe Sri Lankan Journal of Medical Administration is published annually by the College of Medical Administrators of Sri Lanka. The journal will publish articles relevant to the discipline of Medical Administration and allied subjects. Material received for publication in the SLJMA must not be submitted for publication elsewhere without the editors' permission.

2. Guidelines for submission of a manuscript for publication
Authors must submit 3 copies of original manuscript. All parts of manuscript, including tables and figure legends, must be typed with double-spacing. References must also be double spaced. Manuscripts should be typed in capital and lower case letters, on white A4 (212 x 297 mm) size paper. Number all pages consecutively
The manuscript should be accompanied by a cover letter certifying that the paperhas not been published elsewhere nor submitted to another journal for consideration of publication. The name, full mailing address, e-mail address and telephone number of the corresponding author should be given. All submissions must be accompanied by an electronic copy of the manuscript of illustrations. The Editors reserve the right to make amendments to the papers submitted although, whenever possible, they will seek the author's consent to any changes made.
3. Organization of the manuscript
Original papers
Original work concerning Medical Administration and the health systems management belong in this category. So do articles on health systems research, health economics and medical ethics. They should have less than 2000 words, 5 tables and illustrations, and 20 references. A structural format is preferred with the headings: Introduction, Design, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions.
Abstract should not exceed 250 words and be structured wherever possible. Authors should provde a few key words or phrases for the index. Abbreviations should be in parenthesis preceded by words in full before the first appearance.
Review / Update Articles, Reports
They should not exceed 750 words, and contain more than 3 tables or illustrations, and more than 10 references.
Other
The Journal will also consider for publication letters (less than 400 words of text, 3 authors, and 5 references), obituaries (less than 400 words), and brief reports (not more than 250 words of text, 3 authors, 3 references and 2 clear black and white or colour photographs).
References
References should be by numbers (Vancouver system) in the order in which they are cited in the text. Use Arabic numerals within parentheses. Give complete name of the journal, year of publication, volume, first and last page numbers.
Tables
All tbles must be typed double-spacd. Tables should be numbered with arabic numerals, in the order in which they are cited in the text. A table title should describe concisely the content of the table.
Figures
Figures should be professionally drawn or prepared using a computer and high-resolution printer. Lettering should be uniform in style. Free hand or typwritten lettering is not acceptable. Number the figures in the order in which they are cited in the text.
